One of my favorite papers in the Stampin’ Up store is this beautiful “tree rings” patterned stamp because it adds an earthy, natural touch to any card or craft! It also pairs beautifully with these flowers and leaves, which are perfect for a wedding card.

I love using nature-inspired patterns and designs for wedding cards because marriages are beautiful things that require care and nourishment, just like flowers.

For the colors, I went with a mix of warm and cool colors tied together with a bit of green.

Here are the specific colors I chose:

Fun color facts:

  • Combining warm and cool colors creates a fun color contrast that still looks balanced and natural, especially when paired with green, which shares characteristics of a warm and cool colors (because it’s a mix of warm yellow and cool blue. Neat, huh?)
  • Blue and orange play a big role in this card! Blue and orange are complementary colors, which means they’re on opposite sides of the color wheel. This is called a complementary color scheme.
  • Complementary color schemes create a balanced, vibrant look.
  • Other complementary color schemes include yellow-purple and green-red (which is one reason why the green-red combination is so popular for the winter holidays!)
